The warm, spicy and sweet like licorice scent of Aniseed oil is characteristic of the seeds it is steam distilled from. Aniseed was one of the earliest used aromatics and spices that has been used to add flavor in cooking. As an oil, it is very potent and packs a punch making it effective to treat digestive and muscular conditions. Particularly, aniseed oil is antispasmodic helping treat sore muscles, tendons and joints and acts as an expectorant, helping to get rid of excess mucus and phlegm causing congestion in the respiratory tracts.
